The most significant composers who influenced the development of the tambura music, orchestral sound and the tamburitza are: Dr. Josip Andrić, Branko Čenejac, Tihomil Vidošić, Mihajlo Vukdragović, Isidor Hadnađev, Branko Rakijaš, Antoni Lorenc, Julije Njikoš, Maksa Popov, Sava Vukosavljev, Zoran Mulić, Miroslav Štatkić and others.
In addition to composers, a significant role in the development of a tamburitza music have conductors and artistic directors of orchestras: from Subotica Pera Tumbas Hajo, Lazar Malagurski and Stipan Jaramazović, from Novi Sad Janika Balaž, Ivan Obad Šćitaroci and Jovan Sabo, from Belgrade Maksa Popov, from Šid Dragoslav Krsmanović, from Sremska Mitrovica Milenko Berić, from Ruma Boško Bogičević, from Futog Žarko Skorić and Jelena Obad Šćitaroci, Franjo Knežević from Kikinda, Budimir Stojanovic from Pančevo and many more.
But the most famous are Janika Balaž, Sava Vukosavljev and Zvonko Bogdan.
