Dear friends,
We wish to inform you that Tamburica Fest, an event that unites all categories of artistic expression, is continuing its cultural mission of nurturing tradition, expanding cooperation and building bridges of friendship.
A delegation of the world festival, whose “partner country” this year, when it celebrates its 15th jubilee, is Austria, has visited the heads of competent institutions in that country and confirmed the cooperation.
– In Salzburg, the city of music, we were guests of the Institute of the Regions of Europe, where we presented the history of Tamburica Fest and this year’s event, which will be held from 18 to 21 August in the center of Novi Sad, to the Secretary General Dr. Joachim Florian Fritz and Prof. Dr. Franz Schausberger – says Dr. Jovan Pejčić, director of the Festival, who was accompanied by members of the organizational team of “Tamburica”, Jovana Carić, Branko Uvodić and Zoran Šijaković.
– It is certain that an orchestra from Austria will perform at this year’s Tamburica Fest, and the topics we discussed were “Novi Sad as the European Capital of Culture” and cooperation with the EU Summit in Salzburg, at the end of October this year, in which the orchestra of
,, Tamburitza Fest” will maybe also participate.
Mr. Pejčić points out that the hosts were delighted with the presentation, which received a round of applause, and they put a special emphasis on nurturing the tradition.
– We also presented the program of this year’s festival, where, in addition to the usual part concerning heritage preservation, the International Tamburitza Philharmonic with more than 250 performers and members of the mixed choir from 15 countries will perform for the first time; then “Tamburitza Mondovision”, an international competition to choose the most beautiful new composition, the premiere of the feature-length documentary film “Stop the Danube”, on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the Festival” – says Pejčić. – We were guests at the City Hall in Salzburg, Mozart’s hometown, which organizes 400 events a year, and, of course, at the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia, where we were received by Consul General Svetlana Lala Stanković and Consul Dejan Udovičić.
This year’s jubilee festival, in addition to the competitive part of the program, will be marked by concerts of the Grand Tamburitza Orchestra of RTV Vojvodina with numerous guests, the Review of Young Tamburitza Players, and an exhibition of paintings from the Tamburica Fest Art Colony.
– We informed our kind hosts about all this. The visit to Austria, the “friend country of the festival”, which we are very satisfied with, opens numerous opportunities for cooperation within the European Union. We are also very satisfied with the way our hosts received the information regarding the events in Novi Sad; they reacted extremely positively to the rich and purposeful presentation and confirmed their arrival in our city – concluded Pejčić, Director of the festival that has the epithet of the best tourist event in Serbia.
