On April 12, 2024, Slavonski Brod officially opened the “House of Tambura – Slavonian Musical Fairy Tale” in the old Brod Fortress, spanning 2500m². This project was funded by the European Union, the Regional Development Fund, and the Republic of Croatia (Municipality of Slavonski Brod) with a total value of €4.3 million.

The House of Tambura was opened by Mayor Mirko Duspara, and the ceremony was marked by the presence of the President of Croatia, Zoran Milanović. The event was hosted by Branko Uvodić, a member and recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the World Tambura Association.

The opening ceremony was also attended by Dr. Jovan Pejčić, president of the World Tambura Association and director of the Tamburica Fest, who addressed the attendees, congratulating them on the opening of the House of Tambura. He also invited everyone to visit Novi Sad, the Tamburica Fest Museum, and to attend the XVII Tamburica Fest, which will take place from September 12 to 15 in the center of Novi Sad.

Among the delegates from the Tamburica Fest was Aleksandar Antunović, a curator and ethnologist at the Museum of Vojvodina and author of the exhibition “Tambura Tradition in Vojvodina” in the World Tambura Association’s Tamburica Fest Museum exhibition space.
